![]() The enclosure is a ported/vented design tuned to 32Hz and has a 3"/75mm diameter port with flared entrance and exit to reduce port air noise.Ī 3-way class A/B amp pack installed in the back of the cabinet actively drives the SCM25A Pro Mk2. This HF driver upgrade is the crucial difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 models. In addition, ATC's SH25-76S Dual-Suspension 1"/25mm soft dome tweeter handles high frequencies exceeding 3.5kHz. A 6.5"/164mm bass speaker handles low frequencies below 380Hz, while an ATC 3"/75mm soft dome mid-driver handles middle frequencies between 380Hz and 3.5kHz. The ATC SCM25A Pro MkII has ATC-designed and produced proprietary drive units. The SCM25A Pro Mk2 will be available from 1st March 2023, priced at £7075 excluding VAT per pair. The ATC SCM25A Pro MkII is a compact 3-way active ported studio reference monitor with a 6.5"/164mm bass driver loaded in a 25-litre vented cabinet and an integrated 235W amplifier, well suited for smaller to medium studios. We reviewed the original SCM25A Pro in the May 2013 issue of SOS, click here to take a look. Dimensions: 271 x 430 x 411 mm (height x width x depth).Max SPL: 109dB continuous / 115dB peak (Per pair, IEC Weighted Pink Noise, 1m, anechoic).Low-frequency cut-off: 47Hz (-6dB, anechoic). This will greatly aid faster decision-making and outstanding translation outside of the studio.” - Richard Newman, ATC R&D Manager Key Specs “We feel the new tweeter lifts the capability of the SCM25A Pro Mk2 to a higher level, retaining the outstanding balance of the monitor, but extending the high-frequency response and reducing distortion to really help lower-level detail in the high-frequency band cut through. Power is accepted on a standard IEC mains inlet. As with the cabinet and drivers, the amplifiers used in the SCM25A Pro Mk2 are designed and manufactured in-house by ATC.īalanced inputs are available on XLR sockets, with users able to adjust input sensitivity, and introduce a low-frequency boost of up to 3dB from controls on the rear panel. FET peak limiters are in place to reduce amplifier hard-clipping, with their activation displayed by a change of colour on the front panel power LEDs. Each drive unit benefits from its own individual amplifier, with crossover duties carried out by fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley filters. Power is delivered courtesy of a three-way Class A/B amplifier mounted on the rear of the cabinet. Taking over below 380Hz is a 6.5-inch/160mm proprietary bass driver which utilises a carbon-loaded paper cone along with a short-coil motor. Mids, Lows, & Ampsįrequencies between 380Hz and 3.5kHz are taken care of by ATC’s acclaimed three-inch/75mm soft-dome mid-range driver, a unit that features in eight of their Pro range monitors, delivering the clear and revealing mid-range detail that the company have become renowned for. The company claim that this makes for a narrower magnetic gap, resulting in higher magnetic flux and allowing the unit to offer an extended high-frequency response whilst lowering third harmonic distortion. The tweeter is a 1-inch/25mm soft-dome design which, unlike almost any other alternative on the market, employs a dual-suspension system designed to better support and control the coil and dome motion. The unit is manufactured in-house by ATC with their usual no-compromise approach to engineering, and has been used since 2015 in a number of the company’s other products, including the SCM110A Pro and SCM150A Pro. The headline feature of the Mk2 is the inclusion of ATC’s own SH25-76S high-frequency driver, which will take the place of the OEM unit used in the current model. British loudspeaker experts ATC have announced the upcoming release of the SCM25A Pro Mk2, an updated and improved version of their popular compact three-way active monitor.
