We are using MS-Office 2019 and I have 2 users who whenever they receive MS-Office attached files from and EXTERNAL sender the documents always error out, when the files are sent from within our domain then there are no issues, I have been having my users. MS-Documents that are attached in Outlook will error out every time Cloud Computing & SaaS.comes with a single static ip and a higher speed. My company has a gamer package that i get. Most cable companies will not install 2 wan connections in a single building Pulling more cable into your home is likely a huge undertaking for no real benifit for them or you. Also most homes are prewired from their fiber distro box and cable converters to your home. If you had a router that handled wan loadbalaning then it would help you. All you'd get is a second wan connection. But maybe i am misunderstanding you.Īs far as getting double bandwith, the reason they are going to pull more cable into your house is because that won't do anything for you. Also, comcast isnt' going to update the ip of your managed switch. Seems like you need a router that will break the network into a new segment and pass out private ip addresses to your clients. So when you plug a pc into the switch it's going to try and pull a WAN ip address, and another device isnt' going to be able to connect. If VLSM could create mor e IP addresses, we'd be able to avoid this whole moving to IPv6 deal in the coming future.Īlso you're using a Procurve Switch behind the cable modem? This isn't a router (afaik). Using a VLSM protocal like CIDR or BG-4 doesn't create more address, just allows them to assign them more efficiently without as much waste. 100 may be a little steep, but that's what they choose to charge.Īlso there are only 4,294,967,296 IP addresses total. So them charging you 100 dollars to come out and fix it is well within their rights. THis has to do with a court ruling some years ago and basically these days it means the point where their responsibility ends and yours begins. If it's wireless then this may be where the poblem lies.Ĭomcast isn't going to work with your equipment because of what's called in Telecom the Demarc (Line of Demarcation). However can you verify that the Belkin is working right? Is it brand new? You didnt' answer about how you were connecting with your laptop. What they are going to say is that their equipment works, which is what they are responsible for. I do agree they are a terrible company, and i've turned down great jobs where i would live in their service area. Well so far it doesn't sound like this is the fault of Comcast. Sorry I am not any help.just confirming the issue you have as WIDESPREAD! Wish Comcast wasn't causing this but I have tested both in home setups and work setups and this only occurs in home setups. I know that giving me a static IP address would not be any issue for ing VLSM they are able to create billions and billions of IP addresses within the block of IP's they already own.so it costs them nothing but they want to charge me double? Arrggghhh Comcast. Lastly I asked comcast to provide me with a Static IP address and they said they could do that for double the amount I currently pay per month.ie $50 per month into $100 per month for high speed internet.AND HERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THEM.if I am going to pay them double just to get a static IP.then I believe they should string a second cable into my home so I get double the bandwidth.but they refuse. There is nothing wrong with the switch I put into place as I use the switch currently on another network. They WILL NOT TELL consumers this information.nor will they work with you to resolve unless you pay them a fee after which I believe they either enable the function on their side or put in a different cable modem which does not force this type of interaction. I personally believe they do this on purpose to force home users to call and pay for more services and make them more money for something that should work normally. I have to believe Comcast has specifically setup something that will force their CABLE MODEMS to recognize a switch/router and stop refreshing the IP address lease. When I contacted Comcast.they told me they will not troubleshoot the issue with me directly cause of the I PAY them $100 plus dollars and an increased subscriber fee.they will come out and configure my "HOME NETWORK" so this will stop happening. I too have found this to be a major problem with Comcast. If my pc is connected directly to their cable modem then I will continue to get a refreshed IP address.but when I add a switch/router into the mix at HOME.then sometime during a 24 hour period my pc will no longer be able to connect.if I try to refresh the IP on the switch cable modem will NOT refresh the IP address of a switch.
